Answers:
Yes!! You should be VERY worried! Take her to a Doctor!
right...
Yes, that is an abnormally high weight loss for one week and unless it's all water weight or she just gave birth, it's also unhealthy. What is she on?
Yes, weight loss on average is usually 1-3 pounds a week...try to talk to her.
I'm 16, and I've recently been through all of this- rapid weight loss, anorexia, etc. I would consider myself normal- height, weight, "social status," I'm a normal happy girl. Sometimes for no reason, girls feel like they should lose weight, and they do it too fast and in the wrong way. Depending on her height and weight, 20 pounds in one week is definitely something to be concerned about, but it's not too late to do something. I wouldn't necessarily talk to her about it yet, because it might be a touchy subject. If you buy good tasting health food, and maybe cook some of her favorite meals, she may be encouraged to eat. She probably is like a lot of girls and has one or two areas she wants to minimize. Just monitor her eating habits, and if nothing improves, try talking to her and maybe take her to the doctor to talk about healthy ways to lose weight. Also, she may be sick. If that is the case, it should pass and she will be fine.
good luck
Yes. That is incredibly unhealthy at any age. You need to sit her down and talk to her, to make sure that she is not bulemic or anorexic.

A certain sign that she is bulemic, is that she might have scars or cuts on her knuckles [when bulemic people stick their fingers in their throats to make themselves throw up, the instant reflex is to bite down]. Also, if you suspect she is, and she tells you she isn't, snoop around her room [normally I wouldn't condone this, but it is a serious matter] and check any where you think might be a hiding place to find hidden vomit. [Most bulemics, if they do not vomit in the toilet, will throw up into anything that is easily hidden and usually has a top on it, to keep the smell inside]. I know it sounds terrible, but you must do this if you suspect she is not telling you the truth about it.

If she does admit to either, get her to a specialist right away. The problem needs to be stopped as soon as possible.

Montior her eating, and make sure she actually eats breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can help her with this.

Good luck.
You should be very worried! Take her to a doctor or something!
yes, you should be worried. there is nothing normal about losing 20 pounds in a week. a healthy rate is 1-2 pounds/week. you need to talk to your daughter and take her to the doctor immediately!
