Whats a UTI?

Question:

Answers:
Urinary Tract Infection.
You will know when you have one as you tend to have urgency and pain when you urinate. It can also feel like you still need to urinate even after you have gone. Some infections are so bad you actually can see blood coming from the urethra.
These infections almost always need medical intervention.
If you think you have one or already do make sure you drink a lot of fluids.Water, pure cranberry juice or other juices.
You can also ask the doctor or pharmacist for pills that help take the pain away while you are on antibiotics.
I was told by my doctor not to take bubble baths as that can irritate the urethra, always wipe yourself from from to back, urinate after you have sex and never to hold my urine...go whenever you have to.
If you tend to get a lot of UTI's usually your doctor will refer you to a Urologist who can do tests to see why you are getting them or if you have any problems with your urinary tract or bladder.

It's a Urinary Tract Infection.
And the symptoms are having trouble pee'ing.
You will feel like you have to go but then can't or just a little bit.
It will sometimes burn when you pee.
And you can get really sick feeling with it also.
May even run a temperature because of it being an infection.
There are some over the counter medicines you can try, but the best thing is to go to your doctor and they can treat it with medicine also.
Some people are more prone to getting these infections than others are.

Hope that helped :)
a urinary tract infection

you can purchase over the counter treatment until a dr apt can be made - but also drink plenty of water and cranberry juice- most likely treatment will involve an antibiotic
everyone has already answered what it stands for.

But, it can be caused by bacteria traveling up to your uterus. I had a UTI a couple times, and I could swear I pee'd fire. It is definitely the most painful experience I have ever went through. It is helpful to drink a lot of Cranberry juice (actual stuff, not cran-apple, cran-whatever else..).. and until you can go to the Doctor, which you SHOULD DO, take some AZO. It will make your pee dark orange, and while you're taking it.. make sure to wear a pad because it will stain your underwear. It helps with the symptoms of it hurting, but it does NOT cure them.

Definitely do go to the doctor to be properly treated. It is a bacteria infection, and it needs to be treated with an antibiotic, not just something you can buy in the store.

Also, a lot of water helps too. It helps flush it out. Well, that's what the dr. said when I went one time. She could tell I had been drinking a lot of water... but still, go see a doctor! :)
