Anyone gain a lot of weight on Effexor?

I was on it for 6 months and gained a lot of weight! I was also taking Depo-provera so I assumed it was the B/C but I've gotten off the effexor and lost weight.
I been on effexor xr since 2002 an havent had any weight gain. Case your Dr. didn't tell you some side effects are
1=possible increase in blood pressure
2= increase of possible liver damage
Thats only 2 I think of right off hand. Also after getting on it you MUST be weaned off slowly because of bad side effects from stoping.
I been told by those who stoped it it was than getting off herion, however I don't plan to ever stop mine, it keeps me from being suicidal.
