Women only: I know that I am going through menopause ,but?

Question:
I started my period at 11, now 50. I have skipped a few, had light ones , but still have some heavy. Is this normal? I'm ready for this to end.

Answers:
yes it is normal..usually when you get near menopause your periods will start getting more irregular.. and as u said u may skip them sumtimes alltogether and the flow differs as well..soo nothing to worry...but are there any other symptoms as well?... are they bothering u in any way?..in any case i wud recommend u to see a doctor just to be sure.. take care!

I'd go see your OB just to rule out any fibroids and things like this - I am nearly 40 and have had very very heavy periods of late - so it's just best to get that annual pap in - etc.

I am pretty sure you are normal 50 is still 'young' perhaps you can try a hormonal balance cream to help - through the process I am not sure it helps flow, but it does help with sweats, moods etc..
Sounds like what I went thru.

When was the last time you had a checkup?
Sounds like you getting close. Yes, it sounds normal.
Yeah, you're on your way...
You won't actually be in menopause until you've completed 1 year without bleeding. It wouldn't hurt to have your hormone level checked.
You must be in the 'pre-menopause' time of life. Some peiods can be very heavy..and then sometimes light....anything goes it seems. This time period will pass and someday you will just stop all together. It happens to all of us !
