How do i get back to my pre-baby weight?

QUIT SNACKING SO MUCH!
You are not breastfeeding or working out, so your body is just getting fat. When you were breastfeeding, snacking was great to keep up your milk supply and all the excess was going to the baby. When you were working out, you needed the extra sugar and calories because you were burning so many at the gym. Now that you are not active, you will continue to gain weight unless you change your eating habits.
Try Lean Cusine or a similar microwavable meal. If you must snack, try healthy foods like granola bars and rice cakes. Also, drink plenty of water. If you drink the recommended amount of water per day, you are more likely to feel full and less likely to continue snacking. Just make sure that you are eating a healthy balanced diet.
There are not "healthy diet pills." I have worked in the medical field for 2 1/2 years and have seen it all. (I've even tried a few.) The ones that actually work are bad for your heart, so please do not take any. It is better for your son to have an overwieght mother than a dead one.
You will have to practive lots of self-control at work, especially since the other women apparently enjoy snacking. You can do it, though! Good luck!
first keep something like water or a 0 calorie drink in your hand at all times. This helps keep your stomach feeling full and drives off the hungers. It will also make you pee a lot but that helps by flushing out fat cells . An added perk to the water,is that it is great for your skin. Then eat NOTHING FRIED.. sorry.. Bake broil, boil , roast, or grill everything. eat more salad and other fresh veggies and fruit. Fish, skinned chicken and turkey for your meat intake. Go light on red meat, and NO Pork. Watch your portion sizes, 4 oz ( about the same size as a deck of cards) is a portion of meat, 1/2 cup is a portion of veggies, and a portion of pasta is the size of a CD, use a small plate so it looks like more food than it is. Eat whole grains instead of processed .
Then take at least 15 minutes a day for a work out routine use weights to tone and build muscle . Do sit ups and waist twists to help with the abs. Use this for weight loss then to maintain the loss after.
The most important thing is to get up and move! Get out from in front of the TV and the Video Games and the computer...go outside..do something physical..Walk, run, hike, bike, whatever just move..
GOOD LUCK !
AND KEEP AT IT !
You just have to set your mind to it.
I was the same way, but you already know that your eating habits are whats causing your weight gain.
You can still snack, but you need to start packing things like celery sticks, etc.
Once you get your momentum and lose a few pounds, it will be that much easier.
I work in the same type of environment, baked goods, and pizza for lunch. I never touch any of it. Oh sure they all laugh and make jokes about me because I won't eat their junk. But I figure I have the last laugh because I am not overweight like they are.
Life is full of choices, and what you put in your mouth is one of them.
You can do it, if you set your mind to it.
And take that baby for a long walk, you don't need to live in a gym to get exercise.
Good luck!!
yeah, breastfeeding helps to loose weight quite easily.
ya know I would like to know the same thing, my lst baby was born on Dec. 16, 2004 and I am still not where I would like to be. I want my B.C. (before children) body back.
I think maybe we just need more diet and exercise in our lives. It sure is frustrating though, I will give it that.
Resist the snacks! I know it is hard, but you have to have the will power to do it!
Bring healthy foods to snack on. Fruit, veggies, 100 calorie packs and limit your portions! Eat a good breakfast, have a small snack mid-afternoon, a light lunch, another small snack in the afternoon and then a light supper.
When I couldn't get to the gym, I would do exercises with my daughter.
1) lie on the floor, place your son on your belly. As you do crunches, when you crunch up, make silly noises or count and they will giggle. Plus the extra weight will give you a little more resistance.
2) while lying on your back, hold your son by his sides, lift him up in the air and slowly bring him back down for a kiss! Do this about 10 times, take a break and do again. Watch out for drool!
3) also lying on your back. place your son on your tummy (near the pelvis), keep knees at a 90 degree angle. do pelvic lifts, count in a silly way, or say up and down as you lift your son in the air. I would do ten lifts and then hold the 10th one up and do 10 fast pulses with my daughter in the air. She would giggle like crazy!!
4) put some music on, hold your son and just dance! I would get my feet moving and the bouncing and spinning would just make my daughter giggle! We still do this on often!!
These are just some fun things I did. Get your creative mind going and see if you can think of anything else to make it fun for them, but a workout for you at the same time!
First, you have to stop snacking! If you have a craving, suck on a mint or chew some gum to keep your mouth busy.
Next, you will have to FIND time to work out. Don't try diet pills, except one your doctor can prescribe because commercial diet pills don't work! All they do is give you diahrrea and are full of caffeine. Can't you work out for a half hour on the treadmill while your baby is sleeping?
