I REALLY want to use a tampon?
Question:

my mom helped me the first time, and i helped my sister, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. but if you don't want anyone in there with you, try putting one foot on the toilet seat and using a mirror so you can see what you're doing. if you're not putting it in the right hole, it's not going to go in! use a plastic applicator and a small (light) tampon the first time. just be patient with yourself, it might take a little while and it might hurt a little, too. if you concentrate on using your muscles down there to push it out instead of pull it in, it will automatically relax them so it will go in easier. just try to relax, and don't be afraid to ask a woman you trust for help!
Don't worry about it.. Tampons are so much better... I use the plastic applicator ones they are alot more comfortable to use especially on the days when your flow is lighter...
All you have to do is either lay on a bed or prop one foot on something high, then you'll probably want to use a small tampon. Unwrap it, put the side of the tampon that the string is coming out of facing the floor, so that the other side of the tampon where the opening of the cotton is is facing your vaginal opening, then slowly push it up inside gently, and possinly as much as you can, then push the two peaces or plastic carton together, like an injection and remove them from your vagina opening, so all that's left inside your opening is the cotton and the string hanging out.
It takes practice.

First, start off with some slender tampons, they will be more comfortable and easier to insert (plastic ones are easier for beginners). Then, when you get the hang of it, if you need ones that are more absorbant, you can buy the larger ones.
Also, try putting one foot up (on the tub or something) and try again. It will go in a lot easier that way. Good luck!

Read the directions on the box. It takes some practice. I went through an entire box in a half hour when I first started using them. I HATED pads. So, you can either keep practicing, or try this:
Get the O.B. tampons, the kind that don't have an applicator. Position the little bullet at your opening and just push it in with your finger. It's gross, but it might help you figure out how it's supposed to go better.
More tips?
Try sitting on the very edge of the toilet.
Try squatting on the floor.
Try laying on your back with your knees spread and up.
Good luck. You CAN ask your mom to show you how the applicator works with out her having to see you naked. All you have to do it make a loose fist with your hand. Pretend it is your vagina. The have your mom show you how to insert it. It's all in theory of course, but it might help you understand better.
Good luck! And don't give up!
Okay it seems scary at first. It's all safe to use a tampon. It's not blocking anything but the menstrual blood from getting all over you.The normal cycle will go usually for 5 days, but since you are a first timer it could be 3-5 days. The best tampons and most comfortable are Kotex brand. You need to get regular size tampons.Whatever you do DO NOT get cardboard like Tampax. They hurt and are not comfortable. It's safe to go swimming also if you use tampons, but change them every 4 hours. You might not like your mom to be with you,but honey you are a first timer, you need her to show you how to use them the correct way.
The blockage you're talking about is probably your hymen. All women are born with it, but for some, it breaks naturally through use of tampons or excercise and stretching. Don't force the tampon in. First of all, use one with a plastic applicator, which will go in more easily. You may want to stick with slender or junior tampons as well. When inserting it, relax and either lie down on a bed or prop your foot up on something (like a closed toilet). Point the tampon towards your lower back. It may take you a few tries to insert it, and if you mess up, you might want to try with a new tampon. Eventually, you should be able to insert it, as long as you're inserting it into the right place.
Congratulations, you can now experience all the joys of womanhood! Lol.
There's nothing really to be scared of, your vagina is designed for things to go in and come out of. A tampon is really nothing. If your hymen is still intact it might make it a little more difficult but not impossible. You can expect to go through a few tampons before you get you in correctly though. It took me four lol.
Get some lites like tampax pearl lites and make sure you get it all the way to the back. Not putting it in far enough is the most common mistake. Also it will help if you like use your finger first in the shower or something. That will give you the best idea of exactly where and what angle it needs to go in at. A finger is also slimmer so it will go in easier if you have a tight hymen. hymens do stretch a lot before they break..
