Answers:
depends what std it is but yes the chances of passing it to your baby are very high
different std's carry different risks throughout pregnancy
A baby is coming out of a infected vagina what do you think.
it depends on what std it is, but in most cases the baby would get the disease
It depends on which STD. If it is herpes then you should have a C-Section. If it is HIV, then it is a high risk all around.
A pregnant woman with std. wot a bad girl you are, you have no thought for your unborn child whatsoever...
It depends on the STD. Some are often transmitted to the baby, some are not. These are questions that should be addressed by a doctor who is familiar with the specifics. Good luck.
well if you are pregnant and have std's you should tell you doctor and i wouldn't breast feed it can have a big affect on your baby i guess it depends on what kind of std you have
GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR PLEASE!
there are to many babys with birth defects
It does depend on what type of std & your OB should be able to help answer this or your midwife. I am assuming you are going to have help with deliver. Some STDs are fine for delivery & precautions can be taken. Also there is no reason that you could not breast feed that I know of. Most STDs do not affect the milk.
you should ring your midwife asap my old friend had syphalis and had to terminate also if not cleared up b4 the birth they somtimes have to deliver by c section so the baby does not pass throught the vagina and catch it, before u panic ring nhs help line or go to the doctors or you could even ring the doctors and ask to speak to a doctor or midwife or ring the hospital to speak to a midwife, get answers asap so you dont worry yourself while pregnant hope that helps
Excellent answer by Flossie53. Just what I would say and also keep your doctor informed. Your doctor will inform you of any precautions that are necessary. Good health.
Depending on "which" STD you have affects the baby differently. If you have Syphilis, they will was the babies eyes with a solution to prevent blindness, If you have HIV then the baby will have it too (as it is transferred by your blood). Talk to your doctor at once rather than seeking advice here. If you are pregnant and positive for a STD then seek help from a medical professional.
good luck
depends on the std really. you need to speak to your midwife or gp. if you don`t feel you can do that then go to your local std clinic where you don`t even have to give your real name.
try the link below, its a good fact sheet that gives some good explanations & suggestions.
the major risk to the baby & you with any std is the vaginal birth, so the drs may advise that a caesarian is the best option.
as for breast feeding, the only std that be be passed from mother to child is HIV/AIDS.
hope this info helps & all the best.
from a mum of two & a nurse.
This is NOT a question for a chat or information forum. The consequences can be too horrendous. Go to a specialist Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) clinic & get expert advice. Don't believe everything in these answers, for example one person said that if you haveHIV the baby will get it too. Not true - about 40% of babies from HIV mothers get it, not all. The real message is that you(or your friend or whoever) should go to a GUM clinic YESTERDAY. Good luck
Why dont you ring your local health clinic and ask a health visitor. They are very kind and understanding.
The effect varies, depending on the STD. Syphilis can produce congenital syphilis in the baby. They can be born with no bridge to nose (saddle nose) and severe congenital pneumonia. later they can develop Saber shins (bone problem of the lower leg), abnormal teeth (notched and peg shaped -- called Hutchinson teeth), scarring of the skin around the mouth, genitalia, and anus (rhagades) and deafness. HIV can also pass through to the foetus and babes can be born with it.
