Answers:
the doctor should have done a test to rule anything out.
however, it coulsd just be your hormones trying to settle themselves. remember that after you have a baby there are still lots of different hormones running riot around your body with nowhere to go and nothing to do. as well as that you are addingmore hormones in synthetic form when taking the pill which will confuse your body even more. take a trip to the doctors to clear your mind of worry as this wont help getting your periods back to normal and continue taking the pill unless there are any other problems that your doc says about and they will get back to normal in a month or two.
You should go see your doctor. There have been occasions where pieces of the placenta were left in the uterus during the afterbirth process...this will cause continuous bleeding. The only way to know for sure is to see your OBGYN.
Go by what the doc advised u to do.
