How can I stop underarm sweating?

Question:
OK, so I've tried everything and nothing has worked from deodorants to other types of topicals. It's embarrassing because I have to watch what I wear. I swear I sweat like a man (but don't smell bad) and I don't know what to do to handle it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know that this is common, but kind of embarrassing.

Answers:
well i have the same problem. i went to the doctor and she prescribed this anti-perspirant called Dry-Sol. you put it on at night and wash it off in the morning. after you start using it you are only supposed to have to put it on once a week, but i sweat a TON and put it on everyday. it itches at first but it works great.
Sweat glands are part of the body's normal cooling mechanism and the human skin contains many sweat glands, which increase production of sweat in response to the body's need for cooling. Certain areas of the body contain an increased number of sweat glands. These areas include the underarms, groin and perineal areas.

The regulation and control of sweat is done through the Sympathetic Nervous System, which is an independent and Automatic Nervous System. It functions without the ability of self-control. In other words, we sweat automatically according to heat and various emotional stressors, and we have no control over whether we do or do not sweat.

There are two types of sweat glands: Apocrine glands and Eccrine glands. The Eccrine glands are the sweat glands responsible for excessive underarm sweating (Hyperhidrosis). The Apocrine glands that produce the "typical" personal odor, sometimes referred to as scent glands, play a role in Bromhidrosis.

Go and see your doctor, because they can prescribe things to help. In extreme cases they can do surgery to remove some of the sweat glands.
sleep with deodorant

my friend has the same problem.she sweat eccessivly.i dont really have any suggestions except to get something thick and easy to spread, and put it on your underarms to control it sorta.(look im not sure but if you have a day off try this and see if it works.its not proven to work.ahh what the heck, dont do it,i might try it one day if im bored)
OMG! I used to have the same problem! I would sweat so bad I had to ALWAYS wear a jacket over what I was wearing, and sometimes even sweat through that!

But I found this stuff called "Certain Dri", you can buy it at Walgreens or CVS. It's about 6 bucks. You put it on at night. And you will NOT SWEAT ALL DAY LONG. I swear. I have been using it for over 3 years now and I have not sweat a DROP! You just have to make sure you use it every night. It's SO worth it! I hope I helped!
Certain Dri. Get the AM version too (blue bottle) in addition to the regular one (green bottle).

After 15 years of ruining clothes, I don't have to worry about it anymore.

The stuff does dry out your underarms though, so I have to put lotion on a couple times a day...but it's totally worth it.
Drysol. I love it.
