Is it normal for hands and feet to swell during period?

Question:
My hands and feet are still swollen, two days after I started my period. I am young, no heart problems or anything. Is this anything to worry about?

Answers:
It can be normal. It is usually caused by water retention, which can be exacerbated by excess salt and caffeine intake.

If you find it happening more and more often, try an OTC product such as Diurex or see your doctor.

Remember too that since it's warmer now, this too can contribute to water retention and limb swelling, otherwise referred to as edema.
No that is normal. You are retaining water is all and it would help to cut out too much sodium during this time of the month as it often makes it worse. I get the same thing.
Normal. It could be caused by food cravings that come with your period. Or it could be hormonal.
