Why is smoking dangerous when taking contraceptives ?

Question: I have acne & have tried all sorts of creams but nothing helped so a friend suggested i take a contraceptive to balance my homones and maybe it would help however i smoke so i would like to know what are the dangers to smoking when on the pill.

If you have true acne, you have to take something orally prescribed by a doctor to get clear it up. Smoking is a real concern especially over the age of 35 while taking birth control. Ask your doctor about maybe taking an aspirin a day to help prevent clots.
