IUD/ IUS removal...?
Question:
Answers:
An IUD and IUS are the same thing, the only difference is for marketing purposes in some countries (in Europe IUS has hormones, IUD is the copper form).
Everyone does run the risk of this happening, however it is extremely rare. Tissue does not begin to form around overeating left in the body for an extended period of time.
As long as your IUD was inserted properly, you allowed for it to heal properly, and you take proper care of it (checking your strings and having it examined by your doctor) you have little to worry about. You should not have it removed and re-inserted each year. If this was the case, federal laws would not have approved the devise to be place in your uterus for 5 years, or the copper for 10.
You will be fine, if it makes you feel better Talk to your doctor about your concerns. I am sure they will reassure that everything is okay.
IUS and IUD are pretty much the same thing. I think it is rare that they have to be surgically removed. It would be pretty expensive to have them removed once a year. In my opinion it would be causing more damage having them in and out so often.
OMG, please dont tell me that. I have an IUD and I didnt think that could happen. Ive had it for about a year and a half and its supposed to be removed in about 3 and a half years. But please, if you find the answer out to this one, pass it on to me.Now Im worried.
