Ingrown hairs?

Question:
what are they?

Answers:
they are hairs that bend slightly instead of coming out of the hole where the hair was shaved and it creates a pimple looking thing. if you pop it and sqeeze both sides( only if a whiehead appears) of the ingrown hair pimple the hair will pop out and the pimple will go away and sometimes they just go away on their own
I occasionally get ingrown hairs on my legs. Like alissooon said, it's when the hair grows inward under the skin instead of out like it's supposed to. Sometimes they don't get whitehead looking though, they just look like a hair growing sideways under your skin! For those, I take a needle and carefully pick at it until the hair is exposed enough to grab it with tweezers and pluck it. It usually doesn't hurt because it is so close to the surface that I am only picking away the very top layer of skin.

I have a friend who had a terrible time with ingrown hairs when she shaved her legs with a regular razor, so she used an electric razor. But that was 35 years ago, so perhaps the double, triple and quadruple edge blades of today are better... I haven't asked her lately. <teehee>

My ex-husband used to get pretty bad razor burn that can become ingrown hairs, especially on his neck. He finally discovered that if he shaved his face after he got out of the shower, when it was nice and softened, then splashed his face with cold water after he was done shaving, it seemed to prevent it.

Good luck!
