Why do women get so snappy sometimes?

Your best bet is to ask the woman in question politely what is wrong, that you noticed you seem to have said/done something wrong and that, hard as you think, you can't figure out what you did that she reacted the way she did.
Usually, that will deflate her "snappiness" and she'll tell you what's wrong (if you are sincere) and usually you'll get an apology out of her. In most cases, her snappiness doesn't even have to do anything with you but is related to something completely different. PMS *can contribute to it, but women who excuse general snappiness with that are just bad mannered.
If the woman still is snappy for no apparent reason, and others have to suffer from her attitude as well, it's time to team up and tell her that her behaviour is not acceptable.

Buy her some flowers, don't raise your voice when talking to her, and look her straight in her eyes and tell you that you love her. It works every time.
By the way, don't accuse her of having PMS, that will piss her off even more.

Well women get snappy for a lot of reasons, first it could be PMS from their monthly cycle, older women it could be pre -menopause or menopause,pregnancy or maybe they are just bitchy.
I think they have the same dna as crocodiles-
