Bleeding 6 days after taking morning after pill/plan B?

Question:

Hi all.. I had my period two weeks 3 days ago.. completely normal bleeding although I developed BV which was treated with Flagyl. on day 12 of my cycle the condom came off while my fiance and I were having sex. So I took the morning after pill to be safe. 6 days after I took the pills I started bleeding, very light at first then a little heavier like a medium flow with very light cramping. The color is dark burgandy sometimes bright red.. there are clots.. if this is my period its two weeks early.. please let me know your thoughts. oh and im not on birth control because I have a medical condition where I cant..

It could be one of two things, since you had the high dose of hormones your body is starting your period early. Or, it could be your body miscarrying. However, what you've described doesn't sound like a miscarriage. All periods can have clots. Miscarriages are extremly heavy bleeding and extreme abd pain. If it doesn't go away in a week (or whatever your normal cycle is) I would make an appointment with you gyn.

The morning after pill has a side effect of bleeding, spotting, cramping, headaches and nausea.

I would say that it is the side effects of the pill.

The Doctor or chemist should have informed you of this before dispensing the medication.
Or there should have been a ltlle phamphlet in the box which would have explaned this also.

Plan B can set your cycle off a little bit and can cause bleeding it does NOT cause abortions or miscarriages. You're fine, but it wouldn't hurt to call your doctor just for some reassurance. Good luck!
