Ortho Evra help please?
Question:
I went to the doctor today, and she said it was just a virus but I don't think so. I also exprenced heavy bleeding while vomiting after the fact that my period had finished.
Change in birth control or just a coincidence?
Answers:
Talk to your Dr. again.Ask to switch birth control. I live in the states, and work for a gyn. In the last 4 years we have had 12 patients who have had the patch either fail, resulting in pregnancy , or a violent reaction such as what you are having. There is no rule that you have to stay with one pill or method of birth control. If this has been happening with the last two periods, I would say the chances of this being a virus is unlikely. Just call and tell them you want to switch. It may take a while,at least 30 days for what ever new pill you go on to work,so use back up condoms. Good luck, I hope you feel better !! Oh, and remind them that not only are you having vomiting, but you are bleeding heavily after your period. This isn't normal.
Sometimes if you've been on a certain birth control for an extended period of time you can have those symptoms. I was on a contraceptive for about a year and a half when all of a sudden I started getting my period t wice a month, then not getting it at all. If you still experience this next month tell your doctor you'd like to change your birth control.
That happened to me too when I was on the patch. They say that the patch gives you twice as much hormones than any other birth control. I couldn't handle it, so i just quit. I feel much better now.
~~Stop it~~~ You tell your Dr. you want something else immediately. If not change Doctor...this is silly you having to go threw this.
~~Good Luck~~
When your sick with anything, it can screw up your period and make your period weird. If you want, you can insist on changing birth controls, but I'd just listen to the doc for now.
