Shaving pubic hair?
Question:
Answers:
When shaving the pubic area, there are a few things to remember. A) make sure your shaver is very sharp--preferably new if you use disposables. The triple blade variety that is out there now is very popular, but does tend to irritate the folical of the hair which then can turn to bumps later. Single blade razors generally offer less irritation---but it varies from lady to lady. B) use a shaving cream with moisturizer. Soap will again irritate things and can cause bumps. Unscented generally as well causes less irritation. C) afterward, use a cool cloth on the area and a good moisturizer. Anything from your favorite unscented (scents can sting on freshly shaved sensative bits) lotion to almond or vitamin E oil are good, but use them only enough to smooth the skin. You don't want to clog the pores and again, cause bumps. D) use a mirror... no need to feel your way.
If you prefer trying a dipilatory, then I recommend magick shave. It was originally created (I know, weird) for black men's beards as they are course and hard to remove. However, follow the instructions EXACTLY or you can SERIOUSLY chemical burn yourself and then Mom gets involved and well... you can see where that goes. Embarrassment-ville.
Good luck!
Use hair removal cream
I use mens shavers all the time...
Go ahead and lay the problem at your mom's door. she probably would be more helpful than you expect.
box of matches will do the trick..
Shaving cream usually makes a close shave harder than it could be. As a razor shaver (face and throat) I can tell you that a little common soap makes a better lather than shaving cream. (The cream just gums up the razor faster, which gets you nicked and cut a lot more.)
Razors take practice, I find first shave in the direction of the hairs growth to take off most of it, then against the direction to get it close. And hot water on the washcloth.
Hope this helps some.
you can use a hair removal cream, at house waxing (alittle painful), or u can shave. When shaving besure to uses lots and lots of shaving cream and to use a new or somewhat new razor. (if its been used more than 4 or 5 times don't use it). Also after you get out of the shower or bath, use lotion on that area. Also try using baby powder or medicated powder to help with the razor burn.
Hope this helps!
a razor and shaving cream works just fine, but you may want to get an after shave cream to prevent bumps, and once you shave there, you will have to do maintenance on a regular basis. One of the best ways to remove hair is to use a bikini wax kit. it is painful, but it keeps the hair gone the longest.
no cause its gonna itch thats wat i have heard.
Do NOT use hair removal cream!! The skin down there is very sensitive. I use regular soap and my venus razor, although I do agree with everyone that a mans razor might be better. Be very careful not to cut yurself, and remember that pubic hair grows in all different directions so you have to shave in all different directions.
As for not wanting to ask your mom, I understand...my mom is straight old school and does no yard work at all. :)
Hi there.
I use regular Dove soap and my Schick razor. Have for years now. Nothing works better for me.
Why use a men's razor? There are so many womens razors out there, even ones with 3 or 4 blades now like men's. I would suggest lotioning the area for a few days before to get the skin softer, it will be less irratating that way. I would let the area get warm water on it for a bit before shaving, so do it towards the end of your shower, but also try to let shave cream sit on it while yourE shaving your legs or something. This will help it shave off better too. Always use a sharp razor, maybe have a seperate one for this area. Some say shave against the hair and some say with the hair, but in my experience you kinda have to do both, just be gentle, not quick hard strokes. I have tried the Bikini Zone brand of shave gel before and it seems to help also. When you get out of the shower, lotion the area with a perfume free or gentle lotion, I use baby lotion. Dont use very perfumed lotions, they can be irratated to that sensitive newly shaved area. The more often you shave, the more irratated it can get and you can get those red razor bumps, so I wouldnt do it every single day.
Shaving is perfectly acceptable. That sensitive skin probably won't go for depilatory creams, and having a chemical burn *there* would be way more embarassing than talking shaving with your mom. Just go slowly and shave little bits at a time to keep from clogging the razor. I use a plain non-electric razor, so not sure if an electric one would pull... When you put on body lotion, moisturize the shaved area to prevent shaving bumps/rash. Good luck!
I use a Venus razor and shaving cream to shave mine. After I'm done I use cheap conditioner down there so the hair grows back in softer. Just use conditioner on it daily and that should prevent the itch. Good luck.
