Any women with experience with Merena? Both sides please!?

Question:
My husband and I have been discussing birth control methods. I am currently on the pill which works fine but quite frankly I'm tired of popping the pill every morning. Not that it's bad, just sometimes I'm not in the same place everyday at the same time. So I was looking at merena. But! I want some info more than the little flier the doc gives ya. Anyone with it? How is it working? Strange side effects? Does it or did it hurt? Has anyone gotten it out and gotten pregnant? Everything normal?? See what I'm getting at? I need some real women's input...the good the bad and the ugly.so I can really figure out if this is for us...Thanks Girls!

I have the mirena and love it. After delivery of the second set of twins and being under the age of 21 (meaning no tubal allowed) it was the best idea for us. the only side effects are that there is spotting on and off but will taper off once your body gets used to it. It didnt bother me at all. I had some cramping when they out it in but it was nothing. I dont even know I have it in. I highly suggest it. I have a ton of friends who have it and even my OB has it and loves it! She uses it; and has gotten pregnant no problem after it was taken out. After delivery she got it again.

Good luck on your decision and I actually highly suggest it.
This b/c method was discussed often in Yahoo so you can look through the questiosn and answers women gave

and other sites that deal with mirena's side effects.

I have had the Merena implanted twice. Each time was terrible. The first time...it was extremely painful and uncomfortable once it was in place. I had to have it removed a couple of weeks later. Having it removed, my husband and I got pregnant immediately with our third child. The second time...i had it after the birth of the third child. HERE WE GO AGAIN. After like two weeks, I literally feel the thing coming out. I had to go to the ER and have it removed. Luckily my doctor prescribed me BC's for backup.

I really like the idea of the Merena and all of its advantages. That's why we tried it more than once. But it was not for me. When I first told my mother that I was getting it, of course she came at me with the IUD horror story she had with hers. Grant it that was 31 years ago, she was right.

In closing, I would say go for it. USE A BACK UP METHOD for a few weeks and see what happens.
I really wished it would have worked for me.
