I have been under a lot of stress but I thought I was coping with it fairly well.

You may be having signs of anxiety, especially if you aren't sleeping well. Worrying and stress can cause your body to physically ache. I recommend going to a doctor, they can help you with your problem.
Sounds like intense stress and fatigue. Are you eating properly. the stess will prevent you from sleeping and the lack of sleep will make uou irritable and fatigued. whatsn the problem. wanna talk about it??
Check out some mental health websites for a checklist of symptoms of depression/anxiety. If feelings like these persist for more than a couple of weeks, you should probably ask your doctor about mental health screening. A few weeks of talk therapy can work wonders sometimes.

Your body is telling to you SLOW DOWN.. mentally or physically. Sometimes we just go through a little phase of depression. You could be overworked or even more irratable due to lack of sleep.take a day to yourself. Lay in bed and sleep and eat and do nothing or whatever you want. This is vacation season.. Do you need one?
