I just got the IUD put in..?

Question:
well I have very bad cramps two days later. Is this normal?

Answers:
Everyones body reacts different to an IUD, it is going to take time for your body to adjust. I would say to give it a week, or however long your period generally is (that's not to say you will stop bleeding). If after a week the cramps have not disappeared then call your doctor for some reassurance.
Over time the cramps should lessen, probably after the first few days, and depending on the type of IUD the cramps may diminish completely.
Personally for me I did experience cramping the first few days and that was the worst of it. Since then I may have an occasional cramp that is minimal.
Good Luck
yes it is. I just want to warn you to definitely go back in 2 weeks to MAKE sure it is still in the right position. Not to scare you but I had the IUD inserted in February and was pregnant in April because I had no idea that it shifted out of place. I didn't even know I was pregnant because I was due for a pap so I went in and she looked and said your IUD is not in the right position...I was freaking out then she took a pregnancy test (just to check) and sure enough it was positive.so please, for your own good don't slack off about that.
Yes in some cases.
