Problems with Ortho Tri-Cyclen?

Question:
I took Ortho Tri-Cyclen from October 2005 to August of 2006 with hardly any side effects that I can remember. The worst was a small bit of nausea.

Well I started it again in June 2007. Since then, I've experienced very tender, sore breasts that have also grown, a bit of weight gain (5 pounds at the most), nausea, and fatigue. I have missed any pills and every time I have had sex has been with a condom.

I did skip my period in June (just went from the end of active pills in one pack to the start of another skipping the empty pills). I don't know if that can be affecting anything. It's just freaking me out a bit because these symptoms are all like pregnancy symptoms.

Any input would be really great. Thank you so much!

Answers:
All these can be normal symptoms of starting or restarting on the birth control. It should go away within the next 2 packs. Don't skip the week between packs and see if you have a normal period. If you are worried that it might be pregnancy or just to ease your fears, take a pregnancy test. The birth control pills will NOT interfere with the test.
I take the same pills but I have never had anything like that happen. Ask your doctor. Good luck!
Give it 6 months...the symptons will go away and your periods will be lighter, shorter and more predictable. You'll wonder why you ever went without it!
it could be that your body is just adjusting again -- and some people's bodies do this --- for up to 3 months before everything is regualted again -- and it doesn't matter which pill -- they all can do it and they all affect people diffrently even if you did take it before ---
Most BC pills work by tricking your body into thinking it's pregnant because you can't get pregnant once your already "pregnant". It's quite possible your body has had slight changes in chemistry since your last time on the pill so your body might be reacting differently. You really should check with your gyno and your regular Dr.
June?? Give it 4 months, after 4 months if you still have problems call your doctor, but you probably won't need to!
I think you should talk to your doctor. I'm sure he or she will recommend running a pregnancy test, just to be on the safe side. They do however sound like signs of pregnancy, I don't honestly know what going directly from one pack of pills to the next can do, but I'm sure it can't make you feel great. The best advice i can give you, is to call your doctor and let them know everything that is going on. I've never taken tri-cyclen, though I've taken many other things. http://health.yahoo.com/drug/d03781a1#d0... try that website, it could help you too.
