Can the nuva ring be lost in you durning intercorse or just regual activity.?
Question:
Answers:
No, there is no possible way for NuvaRing to go to far inside your body. Neither can a tampon, and for the same reason.
Your vagina only goes a few inches into your body (between 4 and 8 inches on average). Then your cervix blocks penetration to your uterus. Under normal conditions (when you aren't delivering a baby), the opening of you cervix is very, very small. Only a few sperm can swim through at a time, so there is no way for the ring to slip to deep.
It is a good idea to check and make sure the ring is in place, but for the opposite reason. The ring wont disappear inside you, but there is a chance that the ring could slip out (during bowel movements or when you are straining your abdominal muscles for example). You should read the information that came with your prescription for more information.
It is possible for the ring to get "rearranged" during intercourse (you can imagine how this would happen), but there is still no danger of the ring being forced to deep. It is usually more comfortable to have the ring deeper inside, and this will also prevent it from slipping out accidentally. If your ring does happen to slip out, there is information with your prescription about what to do.
No, the muscles of your vaginal wall keep it relatively in place. It cannot be lost because it has nowhere to go. If it gets 'too high' and is backed against your cervix, it will flip the other way.
No. It should not slip out because of the muscles in the vagina. There is no danger of NuvaRing® being pushed too far up in the vagina or getting lost. NuvaRing® cannot go farther than the cervix.
