Is it okay to wear a tampon if you havent started your period yet?

Question:
just wondering
dont be mean please

Answers:
No, it's not okay. Only wear a tampon when you're bleeding and always wear the lowest absorbency that will meet your needs. If you wear a tampon when you're not bleeding you'll increase your risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. TSS is very rare but can make you very ill and can even cause death. Having a tampon in when not necessary can also cause vaginal infections, vaginal dryness and vaginal ulcers, plus removing a tampon when it's dry can hurt.
If you are uncomfortable due to discharge or are worried your period will start when you're not at home you can wear a pantiliner or even a pad, both are perfectly safe to use when you're not menstruating.
Once you get your period you can practice using tampons. You'll find it easiest when your flow is heavy. Up until that time comes, read all the information you can about tampons so you will be prepared. Get to know your body as well. Some girls have trouble at first inserting the tampon. It will help you if you know what angle to insert it. Wash your hands and insert a finger into your vagina and follow the path up to your cervix, you'll notice you'll need to insert the tampon on an angle towards the small of your back.
No it's very unhealthy, and why in gods name would you want to if you didn't have to? Crazy kids these days!
I wear one the day before I think I'm going to get it just incase, and nothing negative has happened to me yet.

I think it's fine as long as it's only a day or two ahead of when you're supposed to get it.
I wouldn't want to. I usually wear a pad a couple of days before I think I may start my period, so that I'm prepared.
no!
Ummmmmmmmmm....I guess yo can practice for when you need it. However I would not recomend keeping it in like you would when you have your period. The tampon may become infected. :/ ?
noooooo i think you can hurt your self badly
sometimes, yes ....
especiaally when your out for a long time......
u may never know what might happen on your way....lol
It's most likely not a good idea. This may sound kind of wrong, but yeah... the tampon is dry, your vagina isn't. If you try to put a tampon in there, it will hurt, because there isn't really enough.. not lube, but sort of... to insert it properly. [This will sound gross] but the blood from your period is what makes it easier to put a tampon in.

Not to mention, when you would try to take the tampon out, if it hasn't absorbed enough fluid to make it easier to slide out, it will hurt A LOT [it's happened to me, I've taken it out before I had to and it's quite painful].

If you haven't even started your period [as in never have gotten yet] it's really not a good idea.
NEVER use a tampon except when you are menstruating. This is what they are designed for, so PLEASE be safe and do not use things except for what they're meant for.
It would be fine if your period was due, say the next day otherwise no
if you want to put one in because you are expecting your period then that is fine. the reason you dont want to otherwise, is that you want to take it out full or it may hurt.
it is totally not a good idea, it is horrible for your health and could severly hurt you, it stops your period from coming which is totally not healthy. only use it while ur on ur period :)
I wouldn't reccommend it...I usually just wear a pad the day of then when it comes, i change to the tampon...
i did that be4 i started my period, and trust me, its a bad idea! since its all dryish up there from no blood in there, then its really uncomfortable to take it out. if you're worried about starting your period unexpectedly, then just wear a pad for now.
Definitely not! Ask your doctor for the specifics, but from what I understand, this can cause TSS (toxic shock syndrome). Also, I have heard that it can lead to other complications including abnormal cells in your cervix. Again, just thinking back to articles I have read, but really, don't do it! They don't even recommend sleeping with tampons in overnight, so I'm sure it can't be a good idea to use one when it is completely unnecessary.
no. You can get TSS that way.
If you're trying to deal with discharge, try using a panty liner.
no i wouldent... theres no reason 2.. only if u wanted to practice or sumthing.. wear a pantiliner only wear a tampon when on your period because the tampon will just absorb your natural insides which is not healthy
it will probably hurt because it's so dry.
you shouldnt wear one because it cause bacteria
NO NO NO NO NO
it will hurt like CRAZYY
and you could get deadly diseases like TSS

dont do it, wait until you get your first period

sorry for being so dramatic, but its just a really bad idea
i guess my friends did it and it didnt hurt them its just you can get a disease if you keep it in too long.
