However, what kind of STD is it? Is it one that you can get rid of with antibiotics, or is it a virus that can be treated but not cured? There are lots of variables when you just say "STD".

Depending on the STD she has, it will either clear up and be gone with treatment (like gonorrhea or chlamydia), or it will always be there (like HIV or herpes). So just because she has an STD does not necessarily mean she will always have it.
