In my personal experience, Weight Watchers' Points System was wonderful. After sticking to the diet diligently for a week or so, you have a whole new outlook on food so it really help you make better decisions about food. Plus I was never hungry the entire time I was on Weight Watchers; the number of points they gave me to eat each day was a lot more food than I would normally eat. Weight Watchers promotes learning a healthy lifestyle instead of depending on it for food and weight loss (Jenny Craig). You don't even have to go to the meetings except for the initial one where the explanation of the diet is given and you are given the information booklets. In the first month that I used Weight Watchers I lost at least 20 lbs., and though I'm not following that diet anymore, it's because I learned how to eat healthfully on my own after using Weight Watchers for just a few months. This diet even adjusts how much you can eat each day by how active you are, so if you exercise for just 20 minutes a day, you get more points to use AND you're exercising. More food is my kind of reward for exercising (well, for anything, really ;oP )!
I REALLY think that this diet works, so if you're looking for a long-term diet plan, this is effective!
I'd also like to link you to this three day diet, which will help you lose 5-10 lbs. of water weight, which is an extremely positive and encouraging way to go into a long-term diet plan. Just follow the menu exactly and drink hot green tea instead of black coffee. It will be a difficult three days, but there should be enough food to keep you from starving, and it will be over in just three days with you about 10 lbs. lighter! (I'll tell you that I did this and cheated a few times and had a sweet or two and still lost 15 lbs. of water weight in that three days' time). http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/the-3...
Good luck!
It's either, they both seem to work about the same. flip a coin and go for it... i would pick weight watchers.
Jenny Craig! If it worked for Kirstie Alley it will work for you!Good luck sweetheart!
ok so i watched my mom do both of them w.w and j.c...J.C you do slim down but thts only if u stay with them, they make you shovel out money and its actualy more than $100 once ur out of jenny craig you gain your weight agian it just happeneds even if you do the same rotine asbefore.W.W is way better it dosent teach you how to work out but it teaches you how to eat the way you want but not eat so much of it.W.W puts a plan together that fits you and has insprational talkers.and when youloose weight you dont have to pay but when you gainyou do so it makes you want to work harder.also if you quit you can keep all your tools and do it by yourself.they have a point system so you dont gain weight theres no counting calories.also to speed up loosing weight go to the gym the YMCA is where my parents go.the slower you loose weight the slower it comes back too
Hope i helped a bunch
I've only ever done WW and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. With WW you don't have to buy any special foods or additional "stuff" if you don't want to.
You eat real food and learn newer and healthier ways to prepare the food. You will lose the weight slowly and doctors and experts agree this is the best way to lose. Why? Because you don't risk health problems from rapid weight loss and you're learning how to keep it off at the same time. Remember you didn't gain the weight overnight and it shouldn't come off that way.
There are two different approaches to WW. One is the traditional meeting approach where you attend and pay for weekly meetings. You get tips and ideas to help keep you on track and motivated during these meetings as well as the weekly weigh in part. some people need the accountability of weighing in with someone else to stay on track. About the weigh in, your weight is confidential. The person weighing you will not announce your current weight to the world. They may say, "you"ve lost x, or you had a slight gain of x , but if you ask them not to they won't.
Online only memberships are another option. There you pay by the month (via credit card) and you have access to all the materials, plans, and message boards for a set fee every month. You are responsible for your own weekly weigh ins and you get whatever support you can/want from the online community. So people are very successful with this program because they are very self motivated, others are not.
There is also the option with the meetings approach to use the website for a reduced fee. FYI: You can use the message boards only at no charge anytime.
You can do it!
I think that both of these are excellent programs and I have seen people loose weight using both.
However I prefer WW. I have used and it worked for me. I think that it depends on how much work you think you can put into it.
Jenny Craig is more expensive because you have to buy all the food from them for the first 6 weeks before they will let you do it on your own, but this may be better for you if you don't think you can control your portion size or track your points on your own.
WW is much less expensive and you get a lot more freedom in what you eat. I had waffles today and pizza and am well within my points. If you don't have a lot of money to spend and you feel comfortable tracking what you eat I would go with weight watchers.
Good luck!
