HELP!! If you have the IUD and get a Yeast Infection...?

Question:
Will that cause more infections. I heard it could!

Answers:
It shouldn't cause more infections. As far as buying their brand I would talk to the pharmacist they could answer your question better then anyone on here.
Usually the Walgreens brand, and Dollar Store brand for that matter is identical to the name brand. Just check the name brand and the Walgreen's brand to make sure the active ingredients are identical.
I had an IUD and never got an infection b/c of it.
When I had an infection recently, the one day treatment felt like burning murder, and I had a hint of show of blood.
You do whats best for you.Best to you.
Those over the counter medications help sometimes, but you really should call the doctor and ask them about the new Diflucan pill. You might not have yeast, it might be a vaginal infection. The IUD wont cause more infections, but you need to be very careful about getting them. Antibiotics and the hot moist days all contribute to the yeast issue. Diflucan is a wonder Drug !
It sure helps and its not all that expensive. You should probably get an exam and have the dr check out the discharge to give you an accurate diagnosis.
One cause of recurrent yeast infections (with IUD, NuvaRing, etc) are caused from not properly and effectively treating the yeast infections.
While OTC do work, they may not be enough depending on the yeast infection you have. Some infections require antibiotic treatments.
Try the OTC treatment and if does not work than call your doctor to get a stronger more effective treatment.
