Everyone is different. Personally, I have bad cramping and sore breasts about a week before my period starts. I'm assuming you've not started yet. You will probably start cramping and becoming irritable a week or so before you start. You can try taking Midol but it doesn't help me personally. I try deep breathing when I have especially painful episodes. Tampons may feel uncomfortable at first, especially if you've never had sex before. There are many different brands but a contoured, plastic applicator is the most comfortable and easy to use. The first few months will probably be sporadic but your flow will eventually become regular, coming approx. every 28 days. As I said, every body is different with different experiences. Just remember, this is a natural bodily function so try to relax. And remember to keep protection with you. The tampon instructions have lots of information listed. If reading the package, be aware that Toxic Shock Syndrome, a disease thought to be obtained from wearing tampons, is a rare disease. You can be concerned but not overly scared about this disease. It is RARE.
ok well their are main things you need to know,

you

bloat
have cramps

you dont feel the blood come out of yourself so it is unexpected
you have to where a tampon if you go swimming
umm sometimes it helps if you wear pullups to bed so you dont have to feel uncomfortable wearing a pad
you get your period for about 4-7 days
every 28 days you get it

i hope i helped =D
ohh hunny i feel it when i am bleeding.

honestly i know exactly when im due, i am very moody/sensitive right before my period and get really bad cramps-- unbearable! Now I don't know how old you are, you seem young soo you have to learn to adjust to your period, knowing when it will come, what products you will use ex: tampons/pads and the brands you prefer. Always Always keep something on you-- many experiences i would like to forget. Try to wear black pants when you have ur period, and don't be embarrassed, I have had it since I was 10 and now its like whatever...

ps- i like tampons playtex pearl and a pantyliner-- no particular brand!

good luck
It's different for everybody. but i personally cramp and get very grumpy and crave chocolate. and i use tampons almost all the time because i think pads are gross but thats your choise.
I got my first period when I was 11, I had a little bit of cramping. For 5 years my periods were very unpredictable, I din't one every month and at times got one twice in a month. When I was about 17 my periods became more steady but with that the cramps came. And over the years my period has gotten heavier and more painful. Fortunatly for me it only lasts from 3 to 5 days. I take advil for the pain, and it works just fine for me. I didn't start using tampons until after I lost my virginity. When I go to the store I buy pads, panty liners, and tampons. I use the pads during the day when I'm home, if I go somewhere I use a tampon and panty liner, and when I go to bed I use a tampon and a pad. My periods are really heavy so thats why I use the tampons and pads. You'll develope your own little system to fit your personal needs, not every woman/period is the same. Hope this helps you.
Well, it's different for everybody, of course. When I first got it I had really bad cramping.

Generally, cramps, bloating, lower back pain...but I have found that if you drink lots of water while on your period, it pretty much gets rid of all those syptoms! Most of the time.

Sometimes I get moody and want to cry all the time, or sometimes I'm apathetic and mean. And there's sometimes when I feel perfectly normal! It all depends really.

Personally, I don't like tampons. They make the cramps worse, and in some cases actually cause them. Try not to use them unless absolutely necessary. Like if you're going swimming. I recommend Always ultra-thin wing pads. They are awesome! And comfortable.

And yeah...it is kind of a pain in the butt, but you get used to it. Also, if your having cramps ect. I've found that Pamprin works best.

Hoped that helped you!!
