IUS Mirena coil?

Question:

i just had a mirena ius fitted, ive been in severe pain since the day i put it on which is running to a week now. I have been on strong analgesics to calm the pain but immediately the medicine wears out, i start feeling the pain and its always so bad. I now have to take pain killers every 4-5hours to be alrite. Is this part of the normal procedure or do you think there might be something wrong with the fitting or probably its punctured something? pls help

That doesn't sound normal to me either. I only had a mild back ache the first day or two.

I would go see a doctor right away. It is abnormal. I only had cramps the first day. I hardly notice it now. GO SEE THE DOCTOR.

that doesn't sound right. it seems like your body is rejecting the Mirena IUD. You need to go to your GYN asap. it is possible it was inserted in wrong or moved and is causing pain, but if your body is rejecting it you could cause serious permanent damage by not getting it out immediately. good luck.

Go to your doctor ASAP and if you can't get in right away go the the Emergency Room. I have had Mirena for 3 weeks and I was told that if severe cramping lasts more than 2 days then something is wrong.

Your body may be rejecting the IUD, it may have have shifted after insertion or it could have even penetrated your uterus. If you have heavy bleeding (ie., having to change a maxi-pad or tampon every 45 min) along with the pain you should go the ER.
