After csection and tubal ligation?

Question:
I had a csection on Jne 27th and had a tubal ligation at the same time my question is how long should I bleed for? It comes and goes and I am having cramps like I am going to get my period

Answers:
I bled for about 6 weeks after I had my kids. It's perfectly normal. Unless you are bleeding very very heavily and have clots larger then a golf ball then you shouldn't worry. Take motrin to help with cramps and it will also slow your flow down. Make sure you are taking a multivitamin to prevent anemia. Good luck and congrats!
Unknown.

Probably a great question for your OB/GYN.
Hmmmm ...In 2003 i had a tubal lig. and gguess what? I never had a period again, they say im goin thru pre-menapause!
You should not be bleeding. More then two weeks is reason for concern. Contact your GYN. Allowing this to continue can cause anemia. And the reason for the bleeding needs to be found and treated.
You will bleed for a few weeks off and on after any birth; the tubal ligation has little, if anything, to do with it. I had a tubal ligation via laproscope, and there was no bleeding at all (nor would I have expected any). Your bleeding is due to having given birth.

Before and during your pregnancy, your uterine lining built up so as to be able to sustain your baby. Now that you've given birth, you no longer need that lining, so your body is shedding it. Bleeding is heaviest during the first couple of weeks (usually the first 10 days or so, especially); after that, it tapers off over a period of a couple more weeks, depending on the woman. Your cramps are also normal (although certainly not very pleasant for someone who has had a C-section) as your uterus contracts to help rid itself of the lining, and also to return to (or near) its pre-pregnancy size.

If you are breast-feeding, that may increase cramping, and may also delay the return of your menstrual cycles; this does NOT mean that you are not ovulating or that you cannot become pregnant again.
I only bled for a couple weeks after my c-section/tubal ligation. You may be getting your period, but since it's been off and on for more than a month, you should at least call your doctor. It could be very normal, but that's not how it was for me, so... Better safe than sorry.
Bleeding should subside usually by 6 weeks post partum. You do not indicate if there is any clotting involved, if there is see your doctor or go to the emergency room asap. Also use only pads, and if bleeding is heavy do a pad count so it can be used to estimate blood loss. Cramps are most likely the uterus getting back into shape. Remember all the muscles had to be cut to get to it. I have pasted a site for you to refer to. Congratulations on your new arrival.
