You don't have your period because your body isn't ready to menstruate yet. When your mom got her first period has nothing to do with when you get your first period.

My period didn't start until I was 13/14 either. My body just wasn't ready. Everyone is different so don't worry it will happen. Enjoy the time now not having a period! You'll be having one for for decades to come!

Your body is not ready yet. But trust me enjoy the time with out I am 13 too but i started at 10 it stunk so bad. so just wait till ur body says it's time have fun going in the water whenever u want.
don't be upset you aren't getting it yet. you should be wicked happy. It's not s wonderful as it sounds, scratch that it doesn't even sound wonderful. Celebrate the fact that you don't have it yet!! I didn't get mine till I was 14, my mom was 16 when she got hers. But as I said... celebrate my dear!!
Everyone is different, My sister started when she was 12, and shes pretty skinny (damn her lol) I started when I was 15 and I am bigger boned then she is and my younger sister is 13 going on 14 and hasn't started yet. Just to show you that it doesn't really matter your age or size, you just start when you start. Enjoy the time while it lasts :)
I was 14 when I got mine. My younger sister was 15 when she got hers.
If you still haven't gotten it at age 16, then you should worry.
