I think I have a yeast infection but I dont have insurance? Can I.?

Question:
just treat it myself with Monistat1? I dont have insurance and cant see a doctor at free clinic for two weeks. I have all the symptoms but discharge. I have no discharge. Should I go ahead and treat it myself? It really itches and i dont want to wait. What can happen if I cure it myself but dont have an infection? please give real advice

Answers:
Monistat will make it go away. You don't need to see a doctor. If you don't have an infection, and you use Monistat anyway, it won't harm you.
ok
Check for crabs too.
Yes use the monistat. That is what the doctor would prescribe you anyway.
You can get some yogurt any flavor and eat it, it will cure the yeast infection if that is what u have
Nothing bad wil happen from using Monistat - and it'll probally help. But if you have real bad or worsing symptioms - a lot of dr. will let you make payments.
If you absolutely cannot get to a doctor or a clinic to diagnose you, I would suggest going ahead with the treatment. The treatment will not hurt you if you do not have a yeast infection. If the symptoms do not disappear by the time the treatment is over, you'll know you didn't have a yeast infection. However, I really do recommend getting in to see a doctor as soon as possible because a yeast infection shares symptoms with other dangerous kinds of bacterias and some STDs.
You can by treatment for yeast infections over the counter at the pharmacy. However if you have never had a yeast infection confirmed by a doctor, it's best to get checked out by a doc, in case it's actually something more serious.

Remember, always take the full course of treatment , even of you are feeling better partway though.
There is actually an over the counter test for vaginal infections and I think Vagisil makes it. I believe you just swab the area and it tests it to give you a color chart for the diagnosis. You can treat over the counter, but it may take a bit longer to cure than a Rx. They have some that cure in a shorter amount of time. Good luck, I know it can be very aggravating.
It definitely wouldn't hurt to use Monistat, if you don't have a yeast infection, I don't believe it would be harmful in any way. Also, steer clear of wearing panties with synthetic materials, they don't breathe like cotton ones do and they can worsen the condition. You can buy medicated wipes for the itching. I know how it is to not have medical insurance (I am 3000 dollars in debt to a hospital for a visit to the ER.. and that's after they 'reduced' my bill). It's good to use home remedies, some of the ones I've found work just as well as things prescribed by the doctor. How close are you to Mexico? I'm not kidding about that part, you can go to the pharmacias down there and stock up on antibiotics really cheaply... it's not illegal to bring them back as long as they are intended for personal use. You don't need a prescription for most common antibiotics, and they'll tell you what you can/cannot take back across the border. Just a thought.
They say to go to a doctor for your first yeast infection just in case it's something else. 2 weeks is a long time to wait when you're itching like crazy. Go ahead and use an over the counter treatment and follow up with the doctor in a couple weeks to make sure it's gone. Remember even if you take the one day treatment, it can still take 7 days to work.
Not every yeast infection is accompanied by the cottage cheese discharge.
