I have a tender left nipple, but its only one. It's not very sore, but just worries me a little, any ideas?

leave it alone and go to the right one, just kidding, if you are female it could be hormonal, if you are a male then you need to see a doctor, men can develop cysts and even breast cancer.
my guess is that u are still in your teens.. i dont think its a big issue.. prob water retention & PMS. cut down on salt intake & wear a good support bra when u exercise or move around.
It happens sometimes, usually a hot bath/shower and change of bra helps and in a few hours it dissapears :) Sorry I can't help for what it actually is.

It happends, if it is a guy the shape will grow big if woman the breast will grow.
I'd recommend you see your doctor for a mamogram. Tenderness in the nipples can be a sign of breast cancer. The sooner you catch it the better your odds of beating it.
It is important to know whether you are a male or female, age and is there any history of trauma or injury. How long it has been and is it hot to touch? In case of male without any injury it is worth showing a doctor immediately. Otherwise it can be a simple infection which may be cured in few days.
