Discharge. Help. What would it be?

Question:
I went to use the bathroom and when I wiped, I have some brownish kinda discharge. I only had very little. I know it is not an infection. It happened for one day really, the next day I had just a tiny bit when I wiped like once, then when I wiped it was kinda pinkish. What could this mean or be? Thanks. I know it is a lot of informtaion.

My period isn't really due for another week or so I don't think. But they are never regular. I have never had this happen.

a few possibilities:

1. if you've had unprotected sex this month, you might want to do a home pregnancy test to rule out that you're pregnant. some women have light bleeding/spotting in their early stage of pregnancy. it's called "implantation bleeding".

2. it's from the left-over blood of your last period.

3. if you're taking birth control pills, breakthrough bleeding/spotting is totally normal. if problem continues, you should go to see a doctor. he/she might put you on a higher dose pills to stop the bleeding.

4. hormone imbalance. check with your doctor.
It could be spotting if you are on birth control. Even so this happens to a lot of women. I heard ovulation can cause this as well.
ew stds!
it might be hormal imbalance
Nothing to worry about, just a little breakthrough bleeding which you can get between periods.
Doesn't sound serious...the 'brownish' is likely old blood, the pink is fresh...if it's just tiny bit don't worry. If it occurs frequently you might want to address it with your doc, just to be sure nothing unusual is occuring.
It sounds like your spotting to me.

One of the more frequent causes is hormonal changes resulting from significant weight gain or weight loss; stress; perimenopause; starting, stopping or changing your birth control method; thyroid problems; or certain medications. Of course, pregnancy must also be ruled out! Fibroids (benign tumors of the uterus) can also be responsible. Rarely, this can also happen as a result of injury to the vagina or cervix from insertion of objects, from cancers, from gynecologic procedures (such as a cervical biopsy or cauterization); or even from infections.
well... it could be lots of things...

A brownish discharge is common with minor STDs like chlamydia... so if there is a chance of that, you should get checked.

More commonly it's probably breakthrough bleeding. Or implantation bleeding (which would mean you are pregnant).

Many women will not suspect they are pregnant with the first missed period because they have implantation bleeding around the same time their period was supposed to have been, so they figure the implantation bleeding was their period.

Also, if your periods are never regular... I would say you're just about to start your period.
My advice is to go to your doctor and get checked out just to make sure everything is OK. I am going to the doctor for the same thing today they told me to take a pregnancy test just in case so I suggest you try that and then go to your doctor. If you are on birth control or have irregular periods that can be very normal. So don't freak out just go get a check up and let them know what happened! The brownish color is that color b/c it's old blood either from some scarring or some other reason. Good luck to you and I hope I helped! Don't worry it's NOT a STD just some discharge!
