I can't do a split no matter what i do help!?

First of all, are you trying to do a cheerleader split or a gymnastics split? For either one, stretch at least 2ce a day. Sit on the floor, spread your legs as far apart as possible. Lift your rib cage, like a string is pulling from the top of your head. SLOWLY lean forward, keeping your back straight. Go as far as you can (DO NOT BOUNCE! you will pull a muscle), take a deep breath and as you let it out you can go lower, and hold the stretch for at least 30 seconds. Repeat 2 more times. Repeat the set of stretches morning and evening, trying to go lower each time. As you become more limber, spread your legs further before the stretch. When you get to the point that you can lay flat on the ground between your legs, you should be able to do a split.

If you are doing a gymnastics split, you will also need to stretch your shin muscles but pointing your foot as far as possible and then pulling on it for 30 sec. For a gymnastics split, the toes of both the back and the front leg will be pointed. For a cheer leader split, the foot of the back leg will point out.

Wow. I wish that was my major problem in life. I haven't been able to do a split...ever...not even when I was a little girl and very close to the ground. My legs just don't work that way. And why are you so concerned about not being able to do a split, anyway?
Got me there! It's all about flexibility, but I have never been able to do so myself (much harder for guys)...

just stretch a lot, if you have a gymnastics place in town, try getting signed up for that if you can afford it.. If not, then just stretch and work a lot. but make sure not to do it to much, because, you muscles only stretch or grow when they are relaxing. They don't do anything when they are working to hard.

Spend a lot of time stretching and you will get there. That's all you can do.
so i had this problem too. untill my dance teacher gave me some advice:
step 1. slide down as far as you can go into your left/middle/right side.
step 2. hold for one minute
step 3. stop doing splits
step 4. then go back into your splits
step 5. repeat acouple times
then go onto your other side(s)
try to do this everyday, it REALLY WORKS!!!
