Yeast infection?

Question:
so i went to the doctors and i have a yeast infection. She gave me a pill to take and i took it yesterday. BUt it doesnt feel like its gotten any better. ive been eating yogurt, and putting vagisil on. nothings helping. should i just wait and see or should it have gone away by now?

Answers:
It's not a miracle over night pill, it has to get into your blood system. I would give it 3 days. They have Monistat over the counter which you can buy 3, 5 or 7 days. I would get the 7 days, and do it everyday at the same time...(Probably before you go to bed).

Good Luck.
it will prob. take more den one day
its not goin to go away right when u take the pill.. nothin works like that.. give it time, stop havin sex if you are, cuz then your just passin it back and forth
it may take a few days for the meds to kick in and runt hrough your body. i prefer the actual messy cream b/c it attacks the infection and discomfort right away. if a week goes by and the symptoms still persist, go back to your doctor and ask for the cream.
i totally agree with Robinn K! im a medical assistant, and if u do engage in sexual activity while having yeast infection, minus well forget about treatment because u are passing it back and forth, dont waste money and time. the best pill u can try is called "diflucan". yeast infection doesnt go away fast depending on how severe it is. also what u eat, sexual activity, and wear can sometimes make yeast infections come back
meds don't generally work overnight; give it at least 3 days, then call the dr for advice if you are not better
my advice to you is to: *eliminate sugar as much as possible from your diet (yeah, i know, that is awful hard, especially if you are a junk food junkie like me)
*eat yogurt a DAILY (ditto parenthesis above)
*if you sexually active, your partner must also be treated or you will get re-infected (this may already have happened, and why your medication doesn't seem to work)
it still takes several days for the medication to work...you may not feel any better for a few days . you may also need to take the pill one more time. sometimes it doesn't work at all and for persistent yeast infections you may need to use an otc medication like monistat 7 day or even a store brand for a full seven days. yeast can be miserable ...try to keep the area as dry as possible that should help.
