There are a few different types of birth control that can shorten the duration of your period or reduce the number of periods you have in a year. A few new pills have come out that have active pills during the 4th week (usually the "sugar pill" week) so that you don't get your period - usually they will cycle through so that you take a placebo week every 3 months or so and end up with 4 periods a year. A lot of women on Depo or other birth control shots also stop having periods, or have shorter and lighter periods, but they may also have spotting between periods. I've also heard of people having similar results from IUDs (intrauterine devices).

use tampons, tampons basically are used when your period starts, when the blood starts coming out of your thing... the tampon absorbs all the blood and leaves it clean, so use a tampon or sanitary wipes.

You can be prescribed a birth control pill to lessen the frequency of the period, or stop it completely. Some are not approved by the fda, because they do not know the long term efffects yet. I think you have to be 21 to go on the one that takes it off completely but I'm not sure.

You really cant but there id the borth control pill that you could take but you would have to take it the same time every day
yes, there are birth control pills out there that are designed to make your periods lighter. You can also take any type of BC and skip the placebo pills which makes you skip your period.
well don't try the PILLS i hate those cuz they can really mess up your body but girls don't see this but soon in the future they will but having your period is a good thing you don't wanna deny it cuz having you period every month is normal for a healthy body but girls don't see this as healthy and turn to the PILLS and stuff like that to try to not have a period and they don't realize but that does some major damage to the body
the only way to maybe lessen it is to be sure not to take anything with aspirin in it, it thins the blood and will make your flow heavier, other than that ,birth control, if its right for you.
The combined pill will may make your period lighter. Also I know that your GP can give you some tablets to stop a period, because my mum got some for her holiday! You can also have the contraceptive implant which in some cases, women have no period at all. This is not an option if you are planning for a child in the near future as the implant is for a minimum of 3 years. Hope this helps!
You are asking the wrong people. You MUST consult a medical professional before trying any hairbrained home remedies. Don't be afraid to be specific with your MD about what you are looking for, he/she may suggest a change in your birth control but do not skip periods completely, you will only have complications later on.
Birth control, lessons the days of your period, helps with cramping, and also helps with acne. there is a new kind of birth control that you only have three periods a year with, but I think thats bad, my mom went on it and her body had a bad reaction to were she bleed for 9 months straight. but talk to your doctor and they'll give you an answer thats right for you.
you could go on birthcontrol. like me for example i had week long periods ugh and they were crapy i had lots of cramps not fun i know but then i got on birthcontrol and ever since then i only have my period for 4 days at the most and i have no cramps wat so ever
