Explain to the teacher what the problem is by having mom write a note and they will let you go to the bathroom. You will have plenty of time to change, you will only have a heavy period for the first 3 days anyway. Good luck
You can leave tampons in for up to 6 hours. Just put a tampon in before you start school. During lunch or recess just change it then. You won't have to deal with all the pads. However, if you want to use pads just wear Kotex night pads to school. Those are made for very very heavy periods. Hope this information helps!
Don't stress too much about this :)
Buy some of those thick pads.. the ones for really heavy flows. They might feel a little uncomfortable, but you can last longer on them. And I'm sure you'd rather feel uncomfortable wearing a thick pad, then leaking out through your pants.
You should be able to hold out until your lunch break at the middle of the day when you have a chance to change.
But if you really feel that you need to change while your in class, your teacher should let you go to the bathroom, no questions asked. They've had years of experience dealing with girls your age who are just starting their periods... so they shouldnt be a worry at all.
As for sports.
do you only carry a purse with you into the locker room?? Don't you carry a duffel bag or something for your extra clothes? If you have a bigger bag with you, then you could always store your stash at the bottom of it.
Well, I used to wear a pad/panty liner and a tampon on days that my flow was heavier and I was worried about leaking to avoid an embarrassing spot on my jeans or something...so that's one thing you could try to avoid leaks and to make you not worry as much. Other than that, just change it every time you go to the bathroom so it doesn't get the chance to become too saturated to leak.
And the "tampons take a while to get in" thing, that will change as you get more practice, but I'd only sit on the floor to do it if you absolutely can't get it in another way. For that I'd suggest that first, you use the ones that come with applicators (I still can't use the ones that don't and I'm 22!) and make sure you don't point it straight up when you insert it, the vagina is kinda at an angle (look here: http://en.wikivisual.com/images/e/e3/fem... ) so when you go to put it in you kinda have to point it towards your back a bit. Second, practice. It will get easier with time, I promise!
As far as the teacher wont let you go to the bathroom thing, if you tell them that this is a "girl issue" then they really can't tell you no.
You could get a cute little makeup bag or something to store them in your locker, if you're afraid of people noticing. (I used to do that).
The biggest thing is don't worry too much. We (being us girls older than you) all managed to survive some how, so you'll be fine too, I promise! It's just a new change in your life and it will take a little getting used to. Hang in there! =)
i agree with answer #2 keep them in another purse in your locker. and if u are getting close then wear a liner or epad....u could keep a sweat shirt in your locker to tie around your waist if u do happen to leak. dont be afraid teacher are more understanding then u think
im about to be thirteen and i went through the sam situation as you. okay first when you wake up put a fresh pad in. then right before you leave to school put in a tampon. then at lunch or gym go to the bathroom where you dont have to ask. then you can ask in any of your afternoon classes.
