Who performs an IUD procedure?
Question:
I just moved and I don't have a ob/gyn yet so I would like to know if anyone can tell me if I can get the procedure done in a clinic of some sort; or, is the ob/gyn the only person that can do this procedure?
Answers:
You can have it done at a clinic, but it will be performed by an ob/gyn.
that is the better Dr to do it,but a regular surgeon can too
ob/gyn is the only person who can do it or u can try a mid wife
It really has to be done by a doctor... Here's a good article:

Do you have health insurance that has a nurse help line? Try calling for a referral. Also, your insurance company can give you a listing of doctors in your new area and you could call a few and ask for referrals to check them out.
Good luck!
Yes, only an ob/gyn can insert and IUD, even if you go to a clinic that will be who does it for you. Clinics do staff ob/gyn's so do your research and find the place you feel most comfortable.
Good Luck
If you go to a planned parenthood, they can help you. Another thing I reccomend is the Implanon, It's a implant that goes in your arm and is there for 3 years, it drips into your blood stream. I had it done and it's GREAT!
