Does doxycycline do this when taking it for bladder infection?

Question:
I have been taking Doxycycline for my bladder infection for the past 7 days. I have 3 days left. I was wondering if doxycycline is a diuretic. Does it make you have to go pee more often?

When I was first diagnosed, I had frequent urination, but it was only a trickle when I would go and it would be a dark color. Now when I go, it's always a lot and it's fairly light in color.

I got my period on Monday as well. I've been having cramps, but they feel like period cramps, nothing else. Should I call my doctor and ask to have another test done after my period to make sure I'm ok?

Answers:
I am on it for something else, and I have not noticed any changes in frequency... given I drink a lot of water. Just make sure you take it with plenty of food and water. I think your increased trips to the lady's room is due to the bladder infection. Hopefully its a good sign (maybe the body ridding the infection?).
Not for me it didn't give me any symptoms like that. I think you are putting too much thought into it. Actually the antibiotics worked the first day and cleared my bladder infection right up.
