Morning after pill, does it react with prozac?

Question:
Help! In the middle of a manic state i had a one night stand unprotected. I feel so ashamed and guilty. I'm 23 and never done this before. I'm on prozac and wondered is it okay to take the morning after pill with this?

Answers:
I would recommend that you actually go to the hospital ER on this. My sister has manic states, but does take birth control without problem. However, the morning after pill has much higher rates of hormones and they can cause you problems. This is not necessarily as a result of interaction with Prozac, but simply how Prozac affects hormones. I don't see any reason why you can't take it, but I just wouldn't want you to try without some sort of understanding of potential reactions. It is possible, though, that the doctor may recommend a different form of morning after pill that you can get OTC or a temporary dosage adjustment for your Prozac.

You have my sympathy. Manic states are just pretty bad and folks who don't know someone with bipolar just don't get it.
You really need to ask a doctor. Just in case someone gives you the wrong info and you get hurt!
Jesus! Prozac, unprotected one night stands. Sort yourself out woman.
I would ask medical advice on this or read the information sheets that came with the prozac.
You need to consult your doctor. No one on here can tell you what will happen.
