Have a personal question for IUD users...?
Question:
Answers:
You have to allow your body time to adjust, at least 6 months. And, it will depend on the type of IUD you have.
A copper IUD can cause longer and heavy periods. A hormonal IUD will shorten your period but does have hormonal affects on your cervical mucus and such. Spotting between periods is common as with any form of birth control.
Speak with your doctor if you have concerns, and give your body time to adjust.
Yes. It sucks.
i have had an IUD for about 15 months now...at first i hated it...mood swings and i would bleed for like 20 days at a time...than all of a sudden i stopped bleeding...never had a period for 6 months THEN is started all over again with the bleeding at weird times and may 2 days then skip a week then 6 days and then skip a couple days and then it would go away for a few more months...it can be very annoying at time but i dont always have a period every month and i am still not pregnant! which is a plus! as far as discharge..yes i have that and never did before...but its not bothersome..have you talked to your doctor
