Yes it is normal. I usually use tampons but I tried these pads and they have a little wipe attached to them. They are wonderful! And refreshing! Especially if you have an odor. You can also buy them separate. They are individually wrapped and good to keep in your purse.
it smells like blood, I'm not sure how to explain it but i wouldn't worry about it unless you have symptoms like a fever, heavy discharge before your period that was greenish or yellowish in color,or if you had a a bit of a smell before your period. if you had any of these symptoms, then i would call a doctor and ask. Remember that women are prone to getting yeast infections before their periods because of the level of hormones. If you are still in doubt ask a doctor.
