have your parents take you to the doctor to get tested for pcos which causes irregular periods and other syptoms. i started going to many of doctors at the age of 16 to find out why i never gotten a menstrual cycle and at the age of 19 they finally diagnosed me with pcos and percribed me yasmin birth control pills so that my period will come. if the doctor thinks pcos can be the cause the doctor will give you several blood test checking your insulin and hormone levels and give you an ultrasound cheking your ovaries to see if you have cyst. good luck and hopefully you get the answer you are looking for.
If you do sports that can happen.
uhh yah ask your mom and then go to a doctor!
go to the doctor, and tell your parents, cause thats not good, if your underweight, you may not have enough body weight to have aperiod- you need at least 22% body fat to have a regular period
No, it's NOT normal. And I would definitely have it checked out. Let your Gyno tell you if you are OK or not.
yes absolutely, go to your mother and get a doctor;'s appointment immediately. You need to have your hormones checked out as well. Good Luck!
I would talk to your doctor about this.
Do you play a lot of sports or overweight.. these factors may cause your missing period. I would make an appointment with the GYN and discuss it with him/her..
Well my grandma told me that she had a friend in HS that did the same thing and she died...not trying to scare you by any means...just go to the doctor and have it checked out!!
if you had had period some time and after that you loose you have secondary amenorrea. maybe you have an endocrinology problem. Look a doctor for counseling
I've heard it's not healthy to have irregular periods, but I've never asked my gyno why. Mine is irregular and they recommended putting me on birth control.
Here's some info I found which may be useful to you.

I had the same problem when I was a teenager. I didn't get my period for 2 years and my family doctor kept saying I'm fine and that it's normal. I switched doctors and she did a blood test to check my horomones. They were definitely out of whack so they sent me to a specialist who put me on a prescription pill for 10 days that forces the cycle to start and then immediately start a regular estrogen birth control pill to regulate monthly. They told me it was smart to catch this problem early on since such a problem can lead to Ovarian Cysts and possibly Cervical Cancer. Please get yourself checked as soon as possible and don't let them tell you it's normal.
yes there is definetly something to be worried about, that is SERIOUS. you shouldve gone to the doctor when you didnt have it for atleast 4 of those months. you actually let 4 YEARS past? your joking right? go to the doctor. i hope you end up going, because youll be really relieved
there are a few things that could cause it:
1. being very athletic
2. being very skinny
if it's not one of those two, then it is something more serious, and you should definately visit a gynocologist.
You said that you are 15 now meaning that you think you started your period at 11. It's possible that puberty made a mistake 4 years ago and that it was too early. It can also happen to people that are very active or girls that are thin. You should probably get yourself an OBGYN or have your mom call hers and ask if it's normal for it to stop and start like that.
