Is one actually more prone to getting pregnant while on birth control pills?
Question:
so I think that would mean that they somehow make you ovulate.
would that be right or what?
what do you think?
Answers:
No, because the birth control pill inhibits ovulation. The period you have when on the pill is not a true period, it is withdrawl bleeding. The progesterone in the pill tricks your body into thinking that you are pregnant, thereby inhibiting ovulation and causing the uterine lining to build up. During the week of non-active pills, the level of progesterone in the body drops. When the body senses this, it thinks you have had a miscarriage and sheds the uterine lining.
Uhhh...No. Not at all.
Birth control pills actually STOP you from ovulating, and then you experience withdrawal bleeding when you're on the "sugar pills" week.
If a person were "more prone" to pregnancy while taking birth control pills, why do you think millions of women use it without experiencing a pregnancy? Thus birth CONTROL pills.
No. The period you get while on BC pills is actually more like a fake period. Its not a true period. Its basically your body going through withdrawal symptoms due to the lack of estrogen in your body. When you take your inactive placebo pills your body is missing the estrogen that the BC pills put into your body. Therefore, its not a true period and you do not ovulate.
no, not at all! BC stops you from ovulating. Your period happens b/c no fertilized egg was implanted into your uterine lining. Just b/c a woman gets her period doesn't mean she's guaranteed to get pregnant.
