Breast reduction?
Question:
How did it go? Did you get good results? Was there a lot of scarring?
I am a 6'2 tall girl with 36 E breasts and I have excruciating pain in my neck. My back also hurts but not as much as my neck. So I would like to get my breasts reduced to a cup size C. Also, I am an athlete (basketball) and smaller breasts would definitely make running easier.
What risks are involved?
What will happen when I decide to have kids?
Will they get as big again as they are now?
Thanks
Answers:
I had a reduction from a 38J to 38C in Feb 2006 and it is totally worth it. I have no more back/neck/shoulder pain and I feel great!
This site helped me out a lot before and after surgery, please check it out!

Check this out for breastfeeding after reduction - IT CAN BE DONE!

When they take out the tissue, they take out as much fatty tissue as possible, so them getting bigger again is rare but DOES happen. If so, it won't be near as big as you are now and might actually be manageable.
Again, that first site helped me out tons, it has an excellent FAQ section as well as a support and picture board.
I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have, just shoot me your email.
I had mine done 7 years ago. It went well. Recovery is not as bad as some people think as long as you follow the doctors advice. The scarring fades as time passes. Mine are barely noticable now. As for having kids, I'm not sure since I don't have any. But those are questions you can ask at a consult.
I think that's a horrible thing to do to a perfectly nice big beautiful breast!
there is a lot of good information and support (no pun intended) that you can find through yahoo groups. just look up breast reduction.
the groups have all sorts of women who have done this, doctor recommendations, info on getting it approved through your medical insurance.
your questions are too in depth to answer here. Another good way to educate yourself is the just do a general search on breast reduction online, look at different plastic surgeons websites, got for a consultation or two (they usually cost very little through your medical insurance)
good luck
Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
Breast reduction is not a simple operation, but it's normally safe when performed by a qualified plastic surgeon. Nevertheless, as with any surgery, there is always a possibility of complications, including bleeding, infection, or reaction to the anesthesia. Some patients develop small sores around their nipples after surgery; these can be treated with antibiotic creams. You can reduce your risks by closely following your physician's advice both before and after surgery.
The procedure does leave noticeable, permanent scars, although they'll be covered by your bra or bathing suit. (Poor healing and wider scars are more common in smokers.) The procedure can also leave you with slightly mismatched breasts or unevenly positioned nipples. Future breast-feeding may not be possible, since the surgery removes many of the milk ducts leading to the nipples.
Some patients may experience a permanent loss of feeling in their nipples or breasts. Rarely, the nipple and areola may lose their blood supply and the tissue will die. (The nipple and areola can usually be rebuilt, however, using skin grafts from elsewhere on the body.)
