Please help!?!? I'm getting worried. . . .?
Question:
I don't have any discharge, which is a symptom of a yeast infection.
I get yearly pap smears and have been with the same partner for the last 10 months. Additionally. He was a virgin before me. (Neither of us have even messed around with anyone else since we've been 2gether) And I've had protected sex with every partner but him.
Is it a yeast infection that hasn't completely gone away yet? It couldn't be an STD could it? We're both clean and have been monogomous!?!
Answers:
It could be a UTI that hasn't completely gone away. The antibiotics that you took may not have worked on the bacteria causing your UTI. Different antibiotics work on different bacteria.
If you had a yeast infection, you should be having some itching and stinging with discharge.
99% of the time pain on urination comes with a bladder infection. I suggest you see your physician and have them do a urine test, if it shows positive, ask them to run a culture, this will tell them what antibiotic will kill the infection. Be sure and tell them what antibiotic you took already, they may just want to give you another round of it. Antibiotics are given for certain amount of days (depending on what they are fighting), you may not have taken the medication long enough.
You could have a bacterial infection, but usually this causes severe itching with a foul odor.
I don't think you have an STD, but if the urine test shows negative, they may want to run further tests, just to be safe.
Good luck, I'm sure all will turn out well.
Hope all goes well.
It could be a urinary tract infection. Is it pressure? If so, try drinking some cranberry juice and get some pills for it. They will of course be in the same isle as the other stuff u got. Try that, and if it doesnt clear up, I would go to the gyno and have them check it out.
let's go back to the original bladder infection. you took meds but they weren't prescribed for you. chances are there weren't enough, if the prescriptee had taken some already and chances are even better they were the wrong kind. And, the fact that the pain never did really go away completely leads me to believe that's still your underlying problem.
Bladder infections are caused by tricky little guys who are very picky about which antibiotic they'll succumb to. Go to the doctor yourself, have your urine tested and find out what's going on. Chances are whatever it is can be cleared up in a short time.
As to the STD thing, some stds don't manifest symptoms for long periods of time - months and months, until it is really bad - so have that checked out - and remember, even if you have one it doesn't mean your boyfriend cheated on you - you may have been infected before he came around - and your're just now becoming symptomatic. Clamydia, PID and venereal warts are notorious for hiding in your body for up to a year or more.
- but please have it checked out there are some STDs out there that are very destructive to women - get it treated now
You could have Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. You could have had a urinary tract infection. Do you hold your bladder in all day for long periods of time? Holding in your urine can cause infections so make sure you go to the bathroom when you need to. It could also be something strange like your appendix. You should get a full exam as soon as possible since you cannot rely on random people's answers who are not doctors.
