There is some pain/discomfort the first time you have intercourse. Your hymen will be broken, essentially tearing it away from the vaginal wall, this causes the pain/pressure you feel. Afterwards, your vagina may feel stinging-like and swollen, you need to rest it a couple of days so you have a chance to heal and your body adjusts to the (what the body considers) foreign object that has been placed there.
