To get on the pill?

Question:
to get on birth control, do u have to see a gynocologist?

Answers:
You don't have to go to the gynecologist, and SOME doctors won't make you have a Pap Smear. BUT, most doctors will want to do a Pap Smear. I know that sounds uncomfortable, but it is best to check for Cervical Cancer before going on the pill. Some "cancers" feed on the hormones in the pill. Which would make a cervical cancer spread quickly. Again, depending on your age, your doctor may not do a Pap, but it is better to be safe, and make sure you have a "normal" Pap, before you start the pill.
Nope, go to planned parenthood.
i got mine off my gp
No, your regular doctor can prescribe them.
nope. i just went to the doctor, i didnt have to get checked out or anything
You would need to go see a doctor or family planning clinic to get a prescription, mostly the nurse or doctor will take your blood pressure and history and you're right to go. It might depend on your age and why you want to use it. Your doctor always keeps this info confidential (this is incase you're under 18 and don't want your parents to know about it).

Hope this helps...
