Vegetarianism Affecting My Period?

Question:
So, I recently became a vegetarian about 2 months ago. I'm 16 years old and before this, I used to have my period like once a year (which was bad, yeah, but SO good)

Now, all of a sudden, I only have seriously 14 days between the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next. (meaning, once it ends, i got 2 weeks to relax before it comes again!)

Which... really sucks!

I'm sure I should check with my doctor about this, but has anyone heard anything like this?

If anything, I thought vegetarianism might make periods come less? What's up here? Or is it just cuz I'm young , my body's wiggin' out?

Answers:
It is because your athletic that your period is going nuts. I know this because when I was 14 I was extremely athletic and mine went haywire too. It has nothing to do with being vegetarian. It is all due to athletics. Once you get out of school and slow down on the athletics, your period will regulate itself. All athletes have problems with this, its normal. Talk to your doc about it and he/she will say the same thing (if they are worth their salt).
its because your young and your body has to get used to all of the changes uve made like being a vegi and also your 16 your body is still going through stages!
being vego wont affect you like that, or at least shouldnt. im vego and i have normal periods even before going on pill. you have to also ask what else are you doing different, and maybe go see a Dr, going on the pill will also help regulate your period so that you get it once a month.
