I gained about 10 pounds and it stayed with me until this summer when I really worked my *** off to lose weight. I lost about 20lbs.
It makes women gain weight because it's hormones that tell your body you're pregnant (causing you not to ovulate). Those same hormones tell you to eat more, you're hungry more often etc.
But if you set your mind to it and work hard - it is possible to lose the weight or not gain any at all.
I know the depo shot does. I've known 3 women who've gotten the shot and gained an extra 20-40 pounds after prolonged (at least 3 shots which is a year and a half) use.
never made me fat, just unfat, as in not pregnant.
some can, but i mean the one i am on hasnt, same with the one that my sister is on, the doctor will just give you a 3 month supply, and if you are not satisfied, just tell him/her you want to try a different pill
It could cause mild weight gain, but thinking about it too mcuh could cause you to gain just from stress. Just watch what you eat and lay off of carbonated drinks and you should be ok:)
yes. lol it seriously does. i gained almost thirty pounds when i was a teenager when i took that ****. it was awful! i cried for days hehehehhe but seriously, the whole thing is, you have to try a lot of different types, before you know what works for your body. and the weight comes back off easy as hell. you are a guy?
I've never gained any excessive weight, and I've used multiple forms of birthcontrol [ortho-tri-cyclin low, the patch, depo, yazmin, ect] for the past 5 years.
25% of women will gain more than 10lb while on the pill
50% of women have no change in their weight or less than 5lb up or down
25% of women will lose more than 10lb while on the pill.
One point to remembers is that if you are under 25 then you will gain weight whether you are on the pill or not - you just aren't done growing until you are twenty five years old. Your internal organs get bigger and heavier and you grow into your adult figure. I went up a whole cup size between 18 and 24 - nothing to do with the pill/
It depends on your body and also the type of pill you take. You can always go on the mini pill, but I am not sure if you need extra "anti baby" protection.
Ask you doctor, there are a few that I know of that dont make you gain weight. Diane dosnt, but I am not sure if that is available every were.
The best thing to do would be check out a website such as family planning and see what types of pills they advertise and do some google research. All medications by law must advertise all side affects, and weight gain is a side effect.
If you ask your doc or do some research, you will know what ones is best for you.
yes sometimes depends on a womans body . it made my friend gain weight
It can, but mostly in water weight. Birth control is artifical hormones, and including high amounts of progesterone which may cause PMS symptoms like bloating or increased appetite. If you have increased appetite, you can become fat from your eating of junk or large amounts of chocolate. Some it makes them eat less, so they will lose weight.
It really depends on how your body will react to certain hormones. with me, ortho-cyclen made me gain, but orth tri cyclen lo made me lose a little. If a certain pill is not working well with your body then try a different one. There are so many different types of pills out there that you are bound to find something that works for you.
I didn't gain weight as such. My boobs just went from a small D to an E cup.
It all depends on what kind of hormone you are taking, and how your body reacts to it. Not everyone will have the same reaction to the same hormonal compliment, or dosage levels. All I can suggest is if you are taking one kind of pill, and you start to notice weight gain, go back to your doctor, and get put on a different kind of pill. There are a lot of different varieties, and it's a matter of finding one that will work best with your body.
